WARWICK — T.A.R.A. - The Animal Rights Alliance, Inc. - will be joining the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce this year at the Community Showcase on Saturday, April 2.
T.A.R.A. is addressing one of the greatest causes of animal suffering - pet overpopulation. Their mission is to reduce the number of stray, abandoned and unwanted cats and dogs from coming into a system that cannot hold them. Their organization operates a low-cost, high-volume, high-quality feline mobile spay/neuter clinic in its 13th year of operation. In addition, they also opened a stationary state-of-the-art spay/neuter clinic for dogs in Middletown in April 2014.
T.A.R.A will be bringing their mobile spay neuter clinic to the Community Showcase and will provide low cost spay/neuter for your cat. Call their office at 845- 343-1000 ahead of time to make an appointment. Check-in time will be between 7:15 and 8:15 a.m. on April 2, and pick up will be later the same day. The cost is $70 for each procedure which includes the surgery, rabies vaccine, ear cleaning, nail trimming and a penicillin shot. Warwick residents can obtain a certificate from the Warwick Valley Humane Society and only pay just $25. Also available for an additional fee are distemper vaccine, flea/tick/ear mite products, dewormer, and microchipping.
