Team members from ShopRite Supermarkets present a check for $110,500 to representatives from Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to empower them and enrich their experiences with hope, strength and joy. ShopRite stores throughout Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester Counties in New York collected donations at checkout from Sunday, April 16 through World Wish Day® on Saturday, April 29, a worldwide “Thank You” day that celebrates all Make-A-Wish medical professionals, donors, volunteers, sponsors, wish kids and families, and also commemorates the anniversary of the wish that inspired the founding of Make-A-Wish in 1980.
Funds raised will support Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley’s mission to ensure that every child who qualifies for Make-A-Wish services is granted his or her fondest wish.
