Middletown, NY – (April 16, 2022) - The Junior League of Orange County is seeking nominations for this years’ Annual Orange County Rising Stars Award.
Recipients of this award are those who show strong leadership skills in both their professional and volunteer lives and are chosen based on values such as achievement, experience, innovation, vision and community impact. To qualify for this award, nominees must live, work or volunteer in Orange County and be between the ages of 21 and 41 on or before December 31, 2022.
“Emerging leaders are helping their organizations thrive during these challenging times, whether by directly addressing new realities or finding creative solutions to pivot into a hybrid world of in-person and digital landscapes. Those individuals deserve to be nominated and recognized for going above and beyond in their professional and/or volunteer service,” said Barbara DeStafeno, 2022 Rising Stars Co-Chairwoman. “Nominees will have the potential for continued leadership excellence and inspiration, plus the courage to make a difference.”
Since 2006, this young professional award has been bestowed upon 366 men and women who continue to make a difference in Orange County. Honorees will be chosen by an independent panel based on such values as achievement, experience, innovation, vision, and leadership.

About the Orange County Rising Stars Award
Junior League of Orange County, Leadership Orange, and the Orange County Chamber of Commerce partnered in 2006 to create this opportunity to recognize emerging leaders making contributions in a public forum. Each year as many as 40 individuals between the ages of 21 and 41 who are up-and-coming leaders in their professional and volunteer lives are recognized. Nominees must live, work, or volunteer in Orange County. Selection is based on the individual’s professional and volunteer activities, demonstrated leadership, and the impact the nominee has had on their organization or community. An independent panel chooses the recipients from a diverse pool of candidates for this award.
The founding organizations worked together to build up this important event to acknowledge the combined influence and accomplishments of the many young and vibrant “Rising Star” professionals for their work in the volunteer and business sectors and their potential to continue to do great things within and for our community for many years to come. This year’s event is being sponsored by the Junior League of Orange County. Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
