The mini chefs program is underway at Chabad of Orange County, where children learn essential culinary skills like peeling, cutting, measuring and mixing.

They learning to make Jewish foods they can be proud of, says Rivkie Borenstein of Chabad. They create chocolate babka, challah, falafel balls, and tricolored tomato salad. Next week they'll be making latkehs and doughnuts in honor of the upcoming holiday of chanukah.

The last class is Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. To sign up your child email chabadoc@aol.com. The cost is $8 a class.

Chabad is located at 12 North Church St. in Goshen.
