October Students of the Month at C.J. Hooker

— Principal William Rolon and Assistant Principal Heather Carman are proud to name the October Students of the Month at C.J. Hooker Middle School.

Grade 6Bree Blackman is new to the Goshen School District and has made an awesome impression on her teachers. She works extremely hard in all subjects. She goes above and beyond when explaining her work. More importantly, Bree is kind, helpful, and respectful to everyone.
Ava DiGrandi is a perfect candidate for student of the month. She is an outstanding student, always striving to do her best. She works hard, is an active participant and a quiet leader. She is considerate and kind and goes out of her way to help anyone is need. Her positive attitude is a true asset to the team, both in and out of the classroom.
Jacob Perales is an outstanding young adult. He is always responsible and consistently puts forth his best effort to succeed academically. His teachers and fellow students appreciate his positive attitude and consideration for others.
Timothy Hartley is a welcome addition to any classroom. He is energetic, eager to learn, and has a great sense of humor.
Special Areas: Mario Lam always takes initiative during projects and labs to go above and beyond. He sets high expectations for himself which results in excellent quality work and behavior. He also always goes out of his way to thoroughly clean the kitchens during lab days to help me out.
Grade 7Norman Peters stands out as a polite and courteous young man. Not only is he respectful to peers and adults alike, but furthermore, he is an active learner, never afraid to ask questions. Norman follows directions and always gives a conscientious effort. Thanks Norman, for modeling such notable behaviors here at C.J. Hooker Middle School.
Naima Puertas exemplifies all the traits of a model student and athlete. She is hard-working and holds herself to very high standards. Naima is always kind and helpful to those around her. She is quick to offer help in the classroom, whether it be taking down chairs in the morning or getting supplies ready. Naima always displays a positive attitude and has a smile on her face. She is considerate, inclusive, and a great role model for her peers.
Isabella Conklin is a hard working student, willing to work with anyone in the class. She is kind to her classmates, and is always willing to help them out. She comes in each day with a smile on her face and a greeting for all of her teachers.
Special Areas: Alexa Kriney is an exemplary art student. She works hard and remains focused. Alexa offers great insight during discussions and provides useful feedback to her peers when working. She continues to persist when she is having difficulty and is open to suggestions on her work. Her work is continually improving and she is continuing to excel in class.
Grade 8Duane Schiaffo is an outgoing, charismatic, polite and highly responsible young man. He is smart, determined, kind and considerate. He is always appropriate, both in and out of the classroom, as well as inclusive and able to communicate well with adults as well as his peers. Duane is a positive influence and looks out for the best interests of others. He is motivated to do his best and seeks help when needed.
Henry Villodas is a courteous, patient, and responsible student who is committed to success. He comes to class with a positive attitude and will work with others without hesitation. He always treats his teachers and peers with kindness and respect.
Sky Rios has been doing a wonderful job this school year. She suffered a knee injury weeks ago and although this was upsetting as she was unable to play volleyball, she continued to come to school with a contagious positive spirit. Sky completes class work and focuses on lessons. She is helpful to peers as well as to her teachers. She is always friendly and respectful and is a pleasure to be around.
Special Areas: Laura Avery is in the Advanced Studio Art class and has really increased her artistic skill this year by putting in extra effort on each art project. Her work is continuing to progress and she’s consistently one of the top art students in the class.
