Lifelong Orange County resident Arthur Worden was selected to be the new Deputy Commissioner of Emergency Management for the Orange County Department of Emergency Services. Worden will replace Alan Mack, who is retiring at the end of the year after nine years of dedicated service to the county.

For over two decades, Worden has served with the New York State Police. In his most recent role as Troop F Captain and Zone 2 Commander, he oversaw critical public safety operations across the region and led the most proactive and productive zone in the entire New York State Police.

“After proudly serving the New York State Police for the past 20 years, I am truly honored to join the leadership team under County Executive Neuhaus and Commissioner of Emergency Services Peter Cirigliano,” Worden said. “Stepping into the role of Deputy Commissioner of Emergency Management, I remain committed to strengthening the partnerships between our emergency services agencies and the communities we serve. I will continue to work collaboratively with first responders, local officials, and the public to ensure that Orange County remains prepared, resilient, and protected in every situation.”

“Emergency Management is one of my main priorities as County Executive, and I am pleased to announce that Arthur Worden will be joining our team as Deputy Commissioner,” said Neuhaus. “His expertise in law enforcement and emergency management will be an incredible asset as we continue to enhance the safety and preparedness of our community. I am confident he will serve Orange County with distinction and help guide our Emergency Services into the future.”
