La Casita brings fresh offerings to Goshen

GOSHEN — There’s a new restaurant in Goshen called La Casita, which means “little house” in Spanish. And just as the name implies warmth, coziness and family, the restaurant lives up to its name.
The authentic homemade Mexican food is not only delicious, but is served up quick, hot and tasty.
The family-run business serves all Mexican favorites, like fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, salads, tortas, chilaquiles, chimichangas, burritos, and more.
“Sauce for each dish is prepared special for every item,” said Guillermo Jimenez, owner with his brother, Louis, of the restaurant. Louis’s wife Susanna and her sister Marylou are the cooks.
“Susanna and Marylou are great cooks,” said Guillermo. “They’re happy to be here and enjoy cooking for people. Everyday they cook meals and makes fresh rice, beans and salsa.”
The restaurant is open from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m., seven days a week. Breakfast is served all day, with “Huevos Rancheros” — eggs with rice, beans, cheese and salsa — the most popular breakfast dish.
There are a lot of well-liked dishes to choose from, and Guillermo said for lunch, people especially like shrimp tacos.
There are plenty of special entrees, like Enchiladas Suisas, Fiesta Fajitas, Chili Reyenos, Bistec a la Mexicana, and Torta Cubana, and many more choices.
All the food is prepared fresh, it’s healthy and not spicy — “unless you tell me, and then we can spice it up,” said Guillermo.
La Casita takes reservations, has space for parties, offers gift certificates, and free Wi-Fi. Take-out orders and catering is available.
“I’d like to thank the people of Goshen and our customers for all the support given to us,” said Guillermo. "We’re so happy to be a part of the business community here in Goshen."
La Casita is entering their homemade chili in the popular Habitat for Humanity Chili Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Goshen.
“We’re happy to give chili to support the Mission Committee’s efforts for Habitat for Humanity,” said Guillermo, who is encouraging everyone to come to the event and sample all the entries in the Chili Challenge.
