How much are teachers paid?

A recent study published by newyorkupstate.com lists the highest-paying school districts around upstate New York.
The media company used information from the New York State Department of Education to create the list of 50 school districts across upstate. Twelve districts were located in Orange County. Salaries for teachers in New York City and on Long Island were not included. The website collected data and found the “50 Upstate school districts that pay teachers the most.”
The website considers anything above Rockland County as “Upstate.”
The current average teacher salary in New York is $59,270, but the highest paying school district in Orange County, Monroe Woodbury, has a salary median of $111,184.
Placed at number one of the list is Orange County’s next-door-neighbor in Putnam County, with a median-salary of $131,689 at Carmel School District.
Shown below are the current school districts in Orange County that pay their teachers the most, their median salaries and the 5th and 95th percentiles representing the lowest and highest paid teachers in that school district.
