Time spent in quarantine was difficult for so many people but many worked out how to connect with loved ones. Here Adrienne Crawford “visits” with her 95-year-old mother, Joan Crawford, at Glen Arden Life Care Center.

They’re able to communicate through an open sliding window during their daily visits.

Joan, a retired Newburgh School District elementary school teacher, has been at Glen Arden for 13-years. She’s a graduate of Mt. St. Mary’s College in Newburgh.

During their visits, Adrienne, the owner of Goshen Jewelers at 41 N. Church St., talked with her mother about everyday topics, like the weather and brought her up-to-date with family happenings.

“My mom especially enjoyed the breeze coming in through the open window,” said Adrienne.
