Goshen Senior Citizens news for August
The Women’s Book Discussion will take place on Friday, Aug. 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This month’s discussion will be on “The Haunting of Hill House” by Shirley Jackson.
On Aug. 12, the Goshen senior Club will be sponsoring a free ice cream social starting at noon. This event is open to all Goshen seniors.
Welcome to “Senior Space," our new member management system that will eliminate all the paperwork currently required for program registration and check-in. If you haven’t already done so, please see Bonnie to get your new key tag with a bar code, which will identify you when you check in each day at the senior center.
Save the date — Just a reminder that our fall barn dance will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7 starting at 5 p.m. Anyone who attended last year knows that this event is one you don’t want to miss. There will be a fabulous buffet, great music, and dancing fun for all. The cost to attend is $20 per person and is limited to the first 60 people who sign up — so don’t miss out on all the fun!
Mark your calendars, folks, as there will be a free senior barbecue on Monday, Sept. 23, at noon. All Goshen seniors are invited to attend. Once again, Pete Smith from Elsie’s Luncheonette will be providing the food, and the Goshen Senior Club will provide all the rest. All seniors interested in participating should please let Bonnie know no later than Sept. 16 so that there will be enough food.
On Dec. 2, the center will be heading once again to the Sand’s Casino for some fun. This trip will also include a show, "Christmas Wonderland Holiday Spectacular," for all those who are interested. The price for this trip is $60, which includes show tickets, $25 in slot play, and round-trip transportation. See Bonnie to make your reservation as these tickets will sell out fast.
For those wishing to just go to the casino, the cost is $25, which includes $25 in slot play and round-trip transportation.
