'Goshen Greats' honored for achievement in a single subject

— The Goshen High School recently honored 11 students as "Goshen Greats" for their accomplishments in a specific subject area.

The Goshen Greats program recognizes the unique achievements of one student from each major discipline each quarter. They are nominated by their teachers for accomplishments that are benchmarks in their academic career or demonstrate school leadership.

The Goshen Greats and their families were invited to a breakfast held in the caféteria in their honor, where they were given certificates of achievement.

The Goshen Greats are:
Lauren Byrne, nominated by art teacher Chris Tucci for her achievements in photography

Lydia DeFusto, nominated by foreign language teacher Claire Polanis for her achievements in advanced Latin

Angely DePoo, nominated by guidance counselor Lizbeth Criscenzo and social worker Katie Shaffer for being a Great Fellow Student

Rachel Distel, nominated by English teacher Kristin Green for her achievements in communications

Angelina Donlon, nominated by health/physical education teacher Kiersten Jacobsen for her achievements in Health 10

Emma Faith, nominated by math teacher Dominique Meyers for her achievements in geometry

Andrew Lupinski, nominated by science teacher Laura MacGinitie for her achievements in Regents physics

Nina Pasquini, nominated by foreign language teacher Claire Polanis for her achievements in advanced Latin

Francisco Perez, nominated by science teacher Deborah Schulz for his achievements in biology

John Swift, nominated by social studies teacher James Polanis for his achievements in U.S. history

Jessica Tortorelli, nominated by art teachers Marc Pizzo and Ruth Roebuck for her achievements in the visual arts
