Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt has a small business of the month appreciation program designed to show recognition for a local small business in the 99th Assembly District each month.

For February, Schmitt is recognizing Confluence Running, Hudson Valley, located at 1 Railroad Ave. in the Village of Goshen.

Confluence Running, Hudson Valley is owned by Matt Gowers with the Goshen store being run by General Manager Chloe Peer. Schmitt joined Peer and Gower this past September for the grand opening celebration of Confluence Running, Hudson Valley.

“Confluence Running has been a welcome addition to Goshen and our Assembly District,” Schmitt said in the press release detailing the award. “They opened during the COVID pandemic but have stepped right up to help keep the community healthy offering socially distant runs and training sessions. They have a local scholarship program to support high school athletes and constantly look for ways to involve the community in healthy outdoor activities which are needed now more than ever.”

Added Peer: “We are so proud to be part of this community and always strive to give back and help provide support for our customers and community.”

Meanwhile, Orange County Legislator James O’Donnell added: “I join with Assemblyman Colin Schmitt in recognizing Confluence Running and the outstanding presence they have in our community. Matt and his team have added a great business to Goshen and have positively contributed to our county through socially distant healthy running events and training opportunities. I wish them much continued success and thank them for being part of our local business community.”
