Glenmere Brewing Co. finds sweet spot with local farmers

FLORIDA — A taste of collective community conscious is sure to be found in every sip of Glenmere Brewing Company’s newest craft beer, Wild Thyme Farmhouse. The family-owned-and-operated brewery in Florida keeps business close to home with their continued partnership with Pennings Farm Market and now with Sweet Things Wild Thyme (STWT) Honey.
The symbiotic relationship between the three family run businesses delivers Glenmere’s most recent small-batch craft beer brewed exclusively for Pennings Farm Market and Glenmere’s own tasting room. Wild Thyme Farmhouse includes Pennings’ grown Brewer’s Gold hops and Vegetable Blossom honey produced by bees whose hives are coincidentally located on Pennings Farm and kept by beekeeper Andje Kurosz of Sweet Things Wild Thyme Honey.
“There may be nothing sweeter than collaborating with local farmers to produce a true homegrown product that reflects the fresh taste of our land,” says owner-brewer Mike Sandor. “We are proud to join with the Pennings and Kurosz families in their commitment to producing fresh locally grown products for the communities that support us.”
Glenmere’s Wild Thyme Farmhouse ale is pale gold in color with a white head. The nose and flavor add soft layers of orange and lemon peel, along with chamomile and lavender supported by a bready malt finish. Wild Thyme Farmhouse is a perfect drink for fall evenings.

“As a locally-owned craft brewery, we take pride in being relevant in our product offerings, especially when they include locally grown ingredients,” says Fredrick Meher, Glenmere co-owner/brewer. Meher adds, “We believe it’s our moral obligation to give back to our community through support of other small local businesses. It's an honor to incorporate Pennings and Sweet Things products into our beer recipes and have them join us in providing our customers with the freshest current craft beer varieties.”
Glenmere co-owners and brewmasters, Mike Sandor and Fredrick Mehler, make carefully calculated efforts in creating their proprietary and award winning craft beer recipes. The ingredients are given much consideration, not only in how they complement one another, but also how and where they are sourced.
