"Give me your dreams,' says Rolling Ridge builder

— Personal attention is the trademark of builder Avi Hort and what makes him stand out from other builders.
“Many builders today don’t listen to people and try to understand what they want in their dream home,” said Hort, managing partner with Estates at Rolling Ridge, the proposed 22-lot subdivision now under construction in the Town of Goshen. “I’m like a chef in a restaurant: I set the menu and prepare the meal, but I need to know more, like allergies, sensitivities, how they prefer the temperature. This is customer care, not merely customer service.”
Priding himself on personal care, Hort explains that for him what it comes down to is first, hearing what is important to the buyer and second, being able to produce what the buyer wants.
“Give me your dreams, your wants and your needs, and then I’ll put together the home that meets those dreams,” said Hort. “A home is a place for families to be comfortable, to grow, celebrate and be blessed.”
New construction at The Estates at Rolling Ridge, located on Howard Avenue in the town, offers many choices and features that most times are left to the new owner to complete; for instance, a paved driveway, walkways, patio, seeded front, rear and side yards, and foundation plantings are included.
Said Melissa Grillo, an agent with Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty in Goshen, “The Estates at Rolling Ridge are on par price-wise for new construction, but the quality of the construction is superior. The builder is firm about quality, that’s for sure.”
Grillo points out that his attention to excellence is apparent in clearing the land — the beautifully situated lots, ranging from one and one-half acres up to the largest lot at 13 acres, with most averaging almost two acres—and the amenities he includes.
“The lots have a rolling, expansive feel,” she commented, adding that they were strategically cleared, leaving a natural tree line and woods.
“Trying not to disturb the natural beauty of the land, Avi left woods in the back, and now the land is clean and appealing,” said Grillo, adding that the views are incredible.
Showroom helps buyersThe proposed subdivision is within minutes of driving distance to Route 17 and the Village of Goshen, for downtown shopping and dining.
To make the house-building project more convenient for buyers, Hort set up a showroom displaying an extensive choice of quality materials and color selections.
The showroom, located at 27 Matthews St., is open to anyone looking for a new home or even to do a simple bathroom renovation. He encourages people to stop in to see samples and get ideas. “This is one-stop shopping for making improvements to your home,” he said, “as well as, choosing features for new construction at Rolling Ridge.”
Included in all models are beautifully selected oak plank hardwood floors on the first floor and upstairs hall, carpeting in the bedrooms, porcelain and stone tiles in the bathrooms, and a custom designed kitchen with a choice of quartz or granite countertops, hardwood cabinets with self-closing doors, and heavy-duty hardware.
“All the features and amenities included in the construction are top-of-the-line quality. I only deal with the best manufacturers,” said Hort.
“The biggest satisfaction for me is knowing that what I build makes a family’s dream come true. I know people dream of living in a beautiful house, feeling successful that they’ve accomplished their goals. A person’s biggest satisfaction is getting a home they dream about for their families,” said Hort.
“I often ride by some of the homes I built three, five, 10, even 20 years ago. When I see these homes that still look beautiful, the families are happy and the children are playing outside.. .it’s priceless,” Hort said, adding, “Money comes and goes, but memories last a lifetime.”
