French teacher wins Website of the Year
GOSHEN Kyle Lewis, an eighth-grade French teacher at the C J. Hooker Middle School in Goshen, was recently awarded the New York State Association of Foreign Language Teachers 2012 Website of the Year.
According to a congratulatory letter from the executive director, John Carlino: "The committee was impressed with not only the technical expertise demonstrated, but also the usefulness of the information made available to students, parents and the general public."
Lewis created the website in his spare time to serve as a powerful communications tool for both his students and their parents. The site boasts several useful features, such as classroom expectations, homework assignments, samples of student work, online flashcards, links to French news, television and music, and more.
Lewis will be recognized at the Annual Conference awards dinner on Oct. 5 in Saratoga Springs.
