— Chester Elementary's Odyssey of the Mind team took first place at Orange-Ulster BOCES this past weekend, which sends them on to the state competition.

The Chester Union Free School District supported four teams this year. First-place teams from across the state will compete against one another this spring.

The elementary students did a fine job with their Wacky Weather Skit. Participation at this level is strictly exhibition so that the students can see what Odyssey of the Mind is all about.

Chester's Division I (grades 3-5) and Division II (grades 6-8) teams created skits that included the production of a silent movie. Both groups worked very hard. Division I took first place and will be moving on to the states in Binghamton on April 11.

Chester's high school students, in Division III, won a second-place trophy for their solution of the classic problem "Pandora's Box." It's been a long time since Chester entered a high school team, and the school hopes this is the beginning of something wonderful.
