— The day started out windy and overcast. But, just in time, the sun came out to lend brilliance to all the glitter and sequins adorning many costumes at the Chester Halloween parade and party.

The parade from the Battiato Farm to Carpenter Field was rather thin. Since there was no registration of individuals for the costume awards, most people opted to just show up for the party at Carpenter Field, where music, games, refreshments, a bouncy house and prizes were the order of the day.

There were many imaginative costumes, and prizes were awarded, announced based on the costume, like "fisherwoman." Without name registration, there were no lists of winners, who quickly blended back into the crowd.

The most important thing: everyone had a great time.
