Martha J. Bill of Middletown passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. She was 65 years old.
The daughter of John C. Bill and Jeanne A. Auray Bill, Martha was born on April 14, 1956, in Waterbury, Conn. She was the Vice President of M&T Bank in Monroe.
Survivors include her husband Richard Cruet at home; brothers Michael C. Bill and his wife Olga and Charles A. Bill and his wife Cynthia; sisters Carol Bill Moylan and her husband John and Elizabeth Bill O’Mara; nieces Laura and Emily; and nephews Gordon and Victor. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law Daniel O’Mara.
Martha was an accomplished artist, using a wide variety of media to express her creativity. She started with beading and jewelry making. She went on to become a talented painter in acrylics, pastels, water colors and pen and ink.
The Cruet and Bill families, and many friends, are blessed to have her artwork gracing our walls, as well as enjoying her many creative Halloween costumes.
A well-respected business leader, Martha was fiercely independent and a free spirit. Loyal, caring and kind are the words her co-workers used to describe her. She also had a mischievous side that was relished by her family and friends. Martha will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 16, from 10 a.m. to noon at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
A reception will follow at The Captain’s Table, 547 State R17M in Monroe starting at 1 p.m.
Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
