Elinor Hart joins Orange County Land Trust Board of Directors

SUGAR LOAF — Elinor Hart of Campbell Hall has been appointed to a three-year term to serve on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Land Trust.

Hart was born and raised in Blooming Grove and is a graduate of Washingtonville High School. She attended Moravian College, Bethlehem, Pa., where she earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Business Management. Hart also holds a Masters of Education in Secondary School Counseling from Kutztown University, Kutztown, Pa.

Volunteerism, enthusiasm and energy

Hart is an active volunteer in her community. For the past six years, she has been a counselor and coach for the Taft Elementary Girls Running Club in Washingtonville. She was also the League Director for the St. Mary’s of Washingtonville CYO Girls Basketball programs for eight years and is a long time volunteer for her local Girl Scouts organization.

Before joining the Board of Directors, Hart was a member of several Land Trust committees, including its Benefit Reception Committee, Communications and Marketing Committee, and Stewardship and Land Protection Committee.

Hart is also a volunteer steward for the Land Trust’s 130-acre Hamptonburgh Preserve in the Town of Hamptonburgh.

“Eli brings with her a strong commitment to land conservation and stewardship in Orange County, enthusiasm for the work we do and above all immense energy,” Board President Marlena Lange said in the trust's press release announcing the appointment.
