On Friday, Nov. 12, the Village of Goshen Police Department arrested Dawn L. Hulse, 50, of Port Jervis, on a charge of third-degree attempted arson, a D felony.

According to the press release from Village of Goshen Chief James C. Watt, the arrest stems from the investigation of a fire in the basement of an office building at #1 Railroad Ave. in the village on Oct. 16.

The chief said there were no occupants in the building at the time of the fire, but several of the offices in the building had contents damaged by smoke from the fire.

The investigation was conducted by Sgt. Gregory Kelemen, in conjunction with Orange County Fire Investigators and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

Hulse was arraigned before Newburgh City Judge Anika Mohammed and released on her own recognizance to appear in Village Court on Dec. 1.
