Goshen. State Police charge Goshen man with rape

    The New York State Police Orange County Child Abuse Unit announced the arrest on Tuesday, Jan. 12, of Omar Cruz, 34, from the town of Goshen.

    State Police said a joint investigation with Orange County Child Protective Services revealed Cruz was involved in an ongoing sexual relationship with a child under sixteen years old.

    Cruz was arrested Monday night and charged with third-degree rape, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

    Cruz was later arraigned by Montgomery Town Justice Frederick Gorss, who sent him Orange County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 bond.
