Law enforcement experts say that shortening the year 2020 to 20 when signing legal documents can put you at risk of fraud. That's because scammers can change the "20" to any date in the last 20 years. A Facebook post by the East Millinocket, Maine, Police Department warns, “March 3, 2020 being written as 3/3/20 could be modified to 3/3/2017 or 3/3/2018. Protect yourself. Do not abbreviate 2020.”
