The Goshen Public Library and Historical Society posted on March 31:
"It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we must say goodbye to one of our dear friends and employees, Dorothy Szarowski. She was not only a wonderful Library Media Specialist at Scotchtown Avenue School, but a Reference Librarian for Adult Services and Young Adult Services at the Goshen Public Library. She was always so excited to see her students from school visit at our library. She had such a welcoming smile, helpful heart and a beautiful creative soul. We will miss her so much as will all of those in the Goshen community."
The Scotchtown Avenue School PTO posted:
"We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of SAS's librarian Dorothy Szarowski. Our hearts are with her family and friends during this difficult time."
