Polling site locations for Town and Village of Goshen residents have changed this year for the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Voting time is 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

For Election Districts 1, 3, 4, 5 and 9, the polling site location is: Goshen Senior Center, 100 Trotter Circle, Goshen.

For Election Districts 2, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12 the polling site location is: Caroline Building, 23 Hatfield Lane, Goshen. (This is the site of the former Orange County Department of Social Services.)

For Election District 13, the polling site is: Whispering Hills Club House, 2 Club House Lane, Chester.

According to Town of Goshen Supervisor Doug Bloomfield, the change is due to COVID 19 restrictions.

Town Hall, a former polling site, can’t be used as an election site because the building is closed to the public due to the pandemic and it can only be accessed by appointment.

The same is true of the Main Street School location — now the Administration Building — that is currently also closed to the public.

It’s clear that as a nursing care facility catering to senior citizens, Valley View Center for Nursing Care cannot be used for voting, noted the supervisor.

“We’ve been following Governor Andrew Cuomo’s executive safety orders since March,” he explained.
