At the conclusion of the school year, Miss Terry Arleo, a 22-year educator at Goshen Area Parent Nursery School (GAPNS), announced she will not be returning in the fall.

Miss Terry, as she is known to families, has had an impact on the lives of countless children as they started their educational journey at the cooperative preschool in the Village of Goshen.

Her announcement was met with emotions and the sharing of nostalgic memories from parents who have had their children enrolled at GAPNS over the past two decades.

“I have loved and enjoyed it more than I can say,” Miss Terry said. “Please know that it is with a heavy heart that this decision is being made. A piece of my heart will always be there.”

“Miss Terry is a gem,” said

Meghan Boroden, the GAPNS president, described Miss Terry “as a gem. Her ‘learning through play’ early education philosophy is what has made GAPNS such a special place for young children to fall in love with school. Parents and children cherish the time they spent at GAPNS long after preschool graduation because of Miss Terry’s dedication.”

GAPNS is inviting alumni families to send a card or note wishing Miss Terry well on her next chapter. Please share a favorite GAPNS memory or create a picture.

Mail to GAPNS, PO Box 91, Goshen, NY 10924. These expressions of thanks to Miss Terry will be presented to her at a future date.
