The following is an update on food pantry distribution in Chester and Goshen:

Chester Food pantry operates at the First Presbyterian Church in Chester and the next pick-up is Thursday, April 23, between 4 and 7 p.m.

Call the church number first at 469-4877. More families are out of work and they expect greater demand this month.

Donations of any food products are always appreciated.

“People should call ahead,” said Rev. Erin Moore, who oversees the operation, "because we have to limit the number of people in the basement. We’re doing pre-packing and people should remain by their cars, on the side of the church and volunteers will bring the package out. We have enough volunteers, but if anyone is interested, please call.

“It’s harder to get some of the essentials- soap, toilet paper, hand soap and detergent,” the pastor added. “People need to be able to clean themselves, their clothes, their dishes. Last month we got some toilet paper from Facebook; ShopRite has a collection bin and Rushing Duck has been collecting items.”

The Goshen Ecumenical Food Council Food Pantry’s next distribution is Saturday, April 25, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at The First Presbyterian Church, 33 Park Place, Goshen.

You will be directed into the parking lot; stay in your car and pop the trunk and volunteers will put a bag in your trunk. Please drive away after you receive your food.

Walk-ups are welcome, but no one will be allowed in the church.

The distribution schedule is the second and last Saturday of each month. Information: 294-9004.
