There are two local races on Tuesday, Nov. 3, in Chester:

Chester Town Justice

Chester Town Justice Janet M. Haislip is unopposed for re-election to a four-year term.

She has been town justice since June 6, 2000. She is running on the Republican, Conservative and Independent lines.

Chester Village Trustee (two seats)

Meanwhile, incumbent Village Trustees Christopher J. Battiato and Elizabeth A. Reilly are unopposed for re-election to two-year terms. They are running on the Community First line.

Battiato also serves as deputy mayor.

Reilly was appointed in January 2016 to fill the Village of Chester trustee position left open after Tom Bell was elected mayor. She previously served as Town of Chester Clerk for 25 years.
