Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt has a small business of the month appreciation program designed to show recognition for a local small business in the 99th Assembly District.

For December, Schmitt is recognizing Valkyrie Coffee Roasters, located at 23 Main St., Chester. Valkyrie Coffee Roasters is owned by roast master Dakota Rudolph.

“With such a difficult year coming to a close, it is inspiring to see Dakota and his team persevering to serve the community in a positive way,” Schmitt said in the press release announcing the small business of the month selection. “Dakota has built a wonderful small business that attracts coffee and tea drinkers from around the area to enjoy everything this region has to offer.”

Added Rudolph: “We started Valkyrie Coffee Roasters less than a year ago and the welcome this community has given us is better than we could have asked for. We appreciate the support of local leaders like Assemblyman Schmitt because through their dedication to the community we are enabled to grow and thrive.”

Chester Town Councilman Robert Courtney also attended the presentation. “Valkyrie Coffee Roasters has not been here very long but is showing what truly hard work can do,” Courtney said. “Thank you to Assemblyman Schmitt for recognizing the successes of the small business community in this area.”
