This year's run/walk is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19. Sign-in begins at 8 a.m., with the run/walk at 9 a.m on the scenic Heritage Trail, beginning and ending at the Chester Academy, 64 Hambletonian Avenue, Chester.

The registration fee is $15 if paid by Oct. 1, or $20 on race day.

Awards will be presented to the top three overall runners and top three in the following age groups: 11 and under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49,50-59, and 60-plus.

All proceeds will fund the Alyssa Barberi Memorial Scholarship. Alyssa was a sixth-grader at Chester Elementary School when she died suddenly, at age 11, just two days after her last day at school. Her memory lives on in her family, friends, and fellow classmates, who meet every October for the run/walk to honor her memory.

Pre- and post-race refreshments will be provided by Shop Rite and Bella Luna Restaurant. There will be raffle prizes and music.

No rollerblades, bikes, or pets will be allowed.
