Raina Faye Ferraro
Raina Faye Ferraro of Goshen, a 17-year area resident, died on Friday, May 8, 2015, at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. She was 21.
Daughter of Giulio and Iris Ferraro, she was born in New York, N.Y., on Nov. 16, 1993.
She was a student at Rockland Community College, where she had completed her first semester. She worked as a sales associate for two years at Vineyard Vines at The Woodbury Commons Premium Outlets in Central Valley. She was a member of the Girl Scout Heart of the Hudson Troop 392 and the Chester Academy Cheer Squad, and a volunteer at Elant of Goshen.
A family statement said: "Raina was the heart of our family. She was always happy and she loved her family and friends. She was at her happiest, when she had her family and friends together at special occasions. Raina loved cheerleading, movies, sushi and hanging with her friends and brothers. She also loved cooking with her parents; she started making meat balls at the age of three, with her Dad. Raina was blessed with the greatest gift, of bring people together. She always brought her smile and kindness, to everyone she met."
Survivors include her parents, Giulio and Iris Ferraro, at home; brothers, Scott Ferraro and his wife, Shannon, and Joseph Ferraro and his fiancé, Theresa Pezzola; her aunts, Barbara Schrager, Lina DeVoy, Gina DellaRossa, Joann Ferraro, Rosa Ferraro, Anna Ferraro, Angela Ferraro, and Bobbie Jo Tirelli; uncles, Tony Ferraro, John Ferraro, Stuart Schrager, Brian DeVoy, and Tony Tirelli; nephews, Gavin, Landon, and Finn; and her "second parents," Sandy and Dave Nagler.
Visitation was set for May 11 and 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. each day, at Flynn Funeral and Cremation Memorial Centers, located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe.
Services were scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, with interment to follow at Beth Moses Cemetery, 1500 Wellwood Ave., Babylon, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley, at Westchester Medical Center, 80 Woods Rd., Valhalla, NY 10595.
