Nicholas Paul Zaharchuk of Washingtonville died on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, at the age of 97 years old at home in the presence of his long time and lovely caregiver Malina Vita.
Nick was the son of Alexandra Boykoff and Paul Zaharchuk.
Nick was known as a builder of homes but he was most remembered as the builder of enduring friendships and lasting relationships with all who knew him.
Survivors include his son John and wife Susan and their sons Nicholas, Alex and Peter; his son-in-law Gerry Bartkowski and his children Geoffrey, Katherine, Christopher and Teresa.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Columba R.C. Church, located at 27 High St. in Chester.
Internment will immediately follow at St. Columba R.C. Parish Cemetery located on Route 94 in Chester.
There will not be a public visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting, if one wishes, to please make contributions in Nick’s memory to St. Columba R.C. Church, 27 High Street, Chester, NY 10918.
