Agnes was born on Feb. 21, 1925, to William and Mary (Boyle) Winand. She lived most of her life in Middletown and was retired from the New York State Department of Health and Sears, Roebuck & Co.

She lived her last 17 years at Valley View Nursing Facility in Goshen.

Agnes is survived by her daughters Pamela Carr and Kimberly Walter; grandchildren: Petra Carr, Timothy French, Matthew French, Jordan Carr, Mairead Carr and Amanda French; her great-grandchildren Kaiden Jones and Kai Carr; and her sister Florence VanGelder.

Agnes was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Reginald (Curt); daughter Cynthia; brother William; and sisters Martha (Wagner), Mary (Long), Katharine (Perillo) and Anna (Decker).

The family would like to thank the superb care provided by everyone at Valley View these last 17 years.

A Memorial Service will be planned for the spring and burial will be at Howell’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the March of Dimes, who helped her and her family survive polio many years ago.
