Hillary Lynn Stuchin and James G. Skoufis were married May 20, 2017, at the Pierre Hotel in Manhattan.
Rabbi Sarah Reines officiated the interfaith ceremony, which incorporated both Jewish and Greek traditions.
The bride, 31, is an associate director in Manhattan at UJA-Federation of New York, where she focuses on public policy for anti-poverty programs. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis and received a master's degree in urban planning from New York University.
She is the daughter of Dr. Pamela S. Stuchin and Dr. Steven A. Stuchin of Manhattan. Her father is an associate professor of orthopedic surgery at NYU Langone’s Hospital for Joint Diseases. Her mother is a psychiatrist in Manhattan.
The groom, 29, is a New York State assemblyman who represents 10 towns in Orange and Rockland counties. He is in his third term and the youngest member of the state legislature. He graduated summa cum laude from George Washington University and received a master’s degree in political science from Columbia.
He is the son of Donna A. Colombo of Ocala, Fla., and George J. Skoufis of Brooklyn. The groom’s father owns A&S, a Greek specialty foods market in Brooklyn. His mother retired as a supervisor for the Postal Service in Newburgh, N.Y., and owned a dance school in Sugar Loaf, N.Y.
The couple met in June 2012 through mutual friends.
