Dion R. Sharp of Chester, N.Y., dies at age 49

Dion R. Sharp of Chester, N.Y., a maintenance care coordinator at the Westchester Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, N.Y., and a 15-year area residence, died suddenly on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Orange Regional Medical Center in Wallkill, N.Y. He was 49.

The son of Carolyn and the late Robert Sharp, he was born on July 16, 1969.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lauren Sharp; and their children, Ashleigh and Nicolas, all of Chester. He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Sharp; brothers, Ken Sharp and his wife, Lisa, of Valley Cottage, N.Y., Jack Sharp and Stephen Sharp, both of Congers, N.Y., his mother- and father-in-law, Thomas and Barbara Rex; sister in-law, Lisa Palamaro and her husband, Franco; nieces, Jillian, Rachel, Isabella and Daniella; along with countless friends in the Rockland and Chester communities.

Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18, at the Flynn Funeral and Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, N.Y.

Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, from 9 to 10 a.m. with a 10 a.m. Prayer Service at the funeral home with Father John Bonnici officiating.

Cremation will be at Oxford Hills Crematory, Chester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sharp Family Fund, in care of Orange Bank and Trust Company, 91 Brookside Avenue, Chester, NY 10918.
