I'm tired of excuses: Legoland must repair its damage to the environment

To the Editor:

In September 2018 I asked, after the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) issued its first five violations and fines to the Legoland project for the runoff and pollution of the OtterKill local streams, that the project be stopped. I was assured by the town board that they were on top of the problem.

Now, six months and 22 more incidents later, I am again demanding that all work stop immediately until the project meets all the requirements set by the DEC. It's most important that a better system to prevent future runoff is designed, but the town also must require the environmental damage already done be corrected!

I am tired of excuses. It's time to stand up and get results.

Kenneth Newbold, Councilman

Town of Goshen
