Readers turned in some erudite answers when identifying last week's Where In Chester? clue.

Chester historian Clifton Patrick said the clue is of the Durland Store at the corner of Academy Avenue and Main Street, and quotes from the National Register while adding more background and a photo: "This Greek Revival frame and clapboard building, 65' x 40', was raised on Christmas Day, 1841, and finished the following spring. The overhang was added in 1842, and the four large pillars and stoop in 1843. Originally the west end of the building, opening south onto Academy Avenue, was a separate store, and was operated as such from 1843 until 1849. After that it was used as a storeroom for the other store." Milton Hulse and Benjamin Thompson conducted business in one store, the other by Anthony Ackley. In 1859, Joseph Durland joined the successors and ran the store with a series of partners until 1862 the firm was again reorganized under the name of J.&S.S. Durland, and continued under Durlands until the 1960s when Joseph Durland's grandson, William Sanford Durland closed the store. Rick Ramsdell gave it new life when he opened his antique store in the early 1980s. Attached image is circa 1890, before the four large pillars were removed and a plate glass storefront created.

Muriel Sheridan writes, "This is the side view of the antique shop at the corner of Route 94 and Academy, across the street from the now closed "Rachelle's", and across the street on 94, from "Tank Masters", the former Johnny's Uptown Market, Kokopelli, (gone?) a beauty salon, and a pizzeria next to a gluten-free bakery that stayed in business only a short time. Kathy's Hair design (gone :-() and Alan's Falafel.

Rebekka Slate and Alan Eskew also correctly identified the clue. Thanks to all!
