— Barbara Martinez is the new executive director of the Goshen Chamber of Commerce.

Before coming to Goshen, Martinez served for more than two years as director of communications of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce.

"From school board to not-for-profit committees, she is deeply connected to Orange County and continuously highlights local businesses and organizations," said the Goshen Chamber's board of directors in its announcement on Monday.

Martinez has called the county home for more 20 years. She graduated from SUNY Orange, where she received her associates degree with high honors. She continued on to Marist College, where she achieved summa cum laude and received her bachelor’s degree in communications.

She is a radio personality and social media influence marketer who will help grow businesses and membership in Goshen, says the board of directors.

“I am truly excited to have the opportunity to take part in the growth, and I look forward to helping promote and bring excitement to our part of the county," said Martinez. "Great things are happening in our county, and now is the time to join us and grow with us."

Mark Kalish, Goshen Chamber board president, said, “We are looking forward to working with Barbara, we have seen what she can do and we are glad to have her bring her experience and her energy to our chamber and our members.”

Martinez has already made herself at home at the chamber offices, located at 223 Main Street. She says she welcomes members and non-members to reach out or visit her at the office. Feel free to send her an email at barbara@goshennychamber.com or call the office at 294-7741.

The chamber's website is goshennychamber.com.
