Chester holds kindergarten registration

CHESTER — Chester is holding its kindergarten registration for the 2019-20 school year.

Do you have or know a child who lives in the Chester Union Free School District and will be age five by Dec. 1, 2019? If so, this child is eligible to begin kindergarten in September.

Students must be five on or before Dec. 1 to start school, with no exceptions.

If you have not already contacted Chester Elementary School, email Debra Lys at or call her at 469-2178 ext. 2202 to request a registration packet. Packets will be mailed during the first week of March.

Here are important dates to remember:

Kindergarten registration will be held by appointment only, April 1-12

Kindergarten orientation will be Wednesday, May 15, from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

Kindergarten screening will be held by appointment only on May 28, 29, 30, and 31.

Chester Elementary School is located at 2 Herbert Drive.
