Salvatore Zani of Goshen, N.Y., dies at age 63

Salvatore Zani of Goshen, N.Y. passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, at Sloan Kettering of New York, N.Y. He was 63.

Son of the late Aldo and the late Mary (Alotta), he was born Jan. 2, 1956, in the Bronx.

He was employed by Metro North Railroad for 38 years and was the supervisor for buildings and structure department in Croton Harmon.

He is survived by his wife, Michele Zani. He was the beloved father of two sons, Salvatore, married to Gabrielle Zani, and Michael, married to Justine Zani. He was blessed with five grandchildren, Brielle, Salvatore, Dominic, Giovanni, and Laila. He is survived by Angela Toscano, his loving sister, and many nieces and nephews.

He was a resident of Goshen for 35 years. He was involved in his community as a volunteer with the soccer club. He coached Little League for many years. He will be missed and loved by all.

Visitation was held Jan. 22 at the Donovan Funeral Home, Goshen.

The funeral was held Jan. 23 at St. John's The Evangelist Church, Goshen. Burial followed at St. Columba Cemetery, Chester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
