— The Orange County Arts Council wants your photos to be part of an Instagram exhibit.

The council is asking residents to send it photos that capture their perspectives on the county to be included in an exhibit on the social media site Instagram entitled #OCNYArtSee.

The images submitted should "celebrate the experiences" residents have in the county.

The council said it is looking for photos that show a "unique view" of life in Orange County, and it would like photographers to think "outside the box" about the photos and try to capture "something special."

Submissions are due via Instagram by Feb. 1, 2019.

Submissions should be posted on Instagram using the hashtag #OCNYArtSeen and be tagged to @orangecountyartscouncil.

There is no cost to submit photos for the exhibit.

Emailed or submissions from Facebook will not be accepted, according to the organization.

Guidelines: Photo must be taken in Orange County NY

Photos should be taken with a cell phone (not an uploaded professional image)

Photos should be recent (i.e. taken between now and Feb. 1, 2019)

Must use the hashtag #OCNYArtSeen when posting and tag @orangecountyartscouncil (or we won't see it!)

Any hateful content will be reported and removed

The council will be printing 50 of the photos selected by its Arts Outreach Committee to be shared at the Orange County Arts Council’s Annual Members Exhibit and will include your “label” info based on what your write in your Instagram caption.

Photographers need to include a #title, their actual name, and where the photo was taken.

People can view a full gallery of the photos by visiting the website.

By creating a virtual and physical space where Orange County natives and visitors can publicly share their images and artistic interpretations, wthe council aims to give individuals an accessible platform to share their visual perspective on life in Orange County.

Sharing these images within the social media platform of Instagram will allow the council to maximize visibility of the culture in Orange County as well as well as encourage a diverse range of participation.

The images will be viewable online and selected images will be printed for display at the OC Arts Council Members Exhibit, but the printed images will not be available for sale, or be able to be picked up by the photographers, according to the council.

Anyone with questions should directly message the council on Instagram at @orangecountyartscouncil.
