Obituary of James Maney

James R. Maney of Goshen, N.Y., died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, N.Y. He was 72.

Son of George and Julia (Dayton) Maney, he was born Sept. 3, 1946, in Goshen.

He loved living in Goshen. He was a former member of the Goshen Minisink Hook & Ladder, worked for The Times Herald-Record, and retired from Arden Hill Hospital as a registered nurse. He loved his job: he was an RN who worked as a nursing assistant so he could take care of his patients.

He loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed TV and was an avid fan of the Giants and Yankees. He loved debating and always had a point to make. He cherished his vacations at Seaside Heights and cruises with his wife and family.

He is survived by his wife, Winni Maney, at home; daughters, Pamela Albertie and husband, Jerry, of Goshen and Melissa Henderson and husband, Daniel, of Goshen; five grandchildren, Julia, Ryan, Thomas, Christina, and Alyssa; and his faithful dog Winston.

Visitation was held Dec. 20 at the Donovan Funeral Home, Goshen, followed by a funeral service with Pastor Paul Thompson officiating.

Burial was private with the family in Slate Hill Cemetery, Goshen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Goshen Humane Society, P.O. Box 37, Goshen, NY 10924.
