Evelyn M. Glynn of Goshen, N.Y., dies at age 87

Evelyn M. Glynn of Goshen, N.Y., died peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, at home. She was 87.

Evelyn was born Jan. 20, 1931, in New York City, the youngest of nine children to James and Mary McGauley.

Always the leading lady, Evelyn brought joy to countless people who watched her perform on stages on Broadway and throughout the country. A proud member of Actor's Equity, she was particularly dedicated to children's theater and toured with the National Theatre Copany and Yates Children Theatre Company. Locally she could be seen often gracing the stages of Wayne (N.J.) Musical Theatre, Paterson (N.J.) Lyric Opera, Elmwood Playhouse (Nyack, N.Y.), and Penquin Rep (Stony Point, N.Y.).

A dedicated church-goer, Evelyn shared her amazing soprano voice with the choirs of St. Mary's in Pompton Lakes, N.J., St. Michael's in Fernandina Beach, Fla., as well as St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Goshen.

Survivors include her devoted and loving husband, Patrick S. Glynn; daughters, Carol Lynne (Rosenhagen) Gremli and husband, Jack L. Gremli, of Pearl River, N.Y., and Bette Jean Rosenhagen of New York, N.Y.; grandchildren, Jordan D. Gremli and wife, Cassandra Bowman, and Ana C. Gremli.

She was predeceased by her parents; all eight brothers and sisters; first husband, Donald J. Rosenhagen; her loving son, John S. Rosenhagen; and second husband, E. William Jewell.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Dec. 14 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Goshen. Private burial followed in Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, N.J.

Arrangements were under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Goshen.
