Greens of Chester cited for runoff

Silt runoff escapes the Greens of Chester construction last week and heads to the Black Meadow stream

CHESTER — The Greens of Chester has cited for runoff violations, Supervisor Alex Jamieson said as last week's town board meeting.
The developer must also redo its outdated water studies and fix a pond breech before work can continue, Jamieson said.
Last Tuesday's heavy rain washed more silt from the Greens construction site into the Otterkill and Black Meadow streams. Deputy Supervisor Bob Valentine said a "small breech in a check dam was allowing turbid water to exit."
