CHESTER — The Chester Village Board handled the following business when it met on July 9:
Daniel Corchado was sworn in as new part-time police officer
Village offices closed for regular business on Friday, July 20, to conduct the retention of records.
The Chester Independence Day fireworks show will be held on July 14 at Community Park/Carpenter Field beginning at dusk. Bands and vendors will start setting up at 5 p.m. The rain date is July 15. For more information call 845-469-7000 ext. 336.
A meeting to discuss the proposed comprehensive plan will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, in the village hall conference room, 45 Main St. (second floor). Enter through the village police department's door. Public input on this vision document for the village is encouraged.
The village's new website is set to launch on Aug. 1.

Food, drink, and ice cream are available, and there's a brewery on site.
