George T. Michaels of Chester, N.Y., dies at age 81

George T. Michaels of Chester, N.Y., the owner of Orange County Wheels in Chester, died on June 7, 2018, at Wingate at Beacon, N.Y. He was 81.

Son of the late George and Eleanore Michaels, he was born on June 20, 1936.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in Japan.

The family is thankful for the compassionate care provided by the staff at Wingate at Beacon.

Survivors include his son, George, and his wife, Valerie; daughter, Susan White, and her husband, Scott; grandchildren, Jessica and Tyler Wendland, Gregory Michaels, Jessica Stafford (Cody) and Joshua Phelps; sister, Patricia Burroughs; brother, Kenneth Michaels; and his best friend, Maureen Graves, and her daughter, Julie.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Elaine Michaels and Eleanor Listes.

Visitation was held June 12 at the Lippincott Funeral Home, Chester. Burial was to be held at the convenience of the family.
