To the Goshen library community:

Six short months ago, at the groundbreaking ceremony for a wonderful new Goshen library, the formation of the Goshen Library Foundation was announced. A group of six community volunteers has been hard at work since then, as a fundraising committee for the Foundation, crafting a campaign to make our new library “The Best It Can Be." Our goal is to both enhance its furnishings and to provide longer-term support for our growing library. To that end, we have been reaching out to residents, businesses, and service organizations in the Goshen area asking for their support.

More than 70 individuals and groups have so far contributed to the campaign, and to them we would like to say a huge “thank you!“ for your generosity. As of mid-January we have raised $280,000 and, while a number of the naming opportunities for rooms, furnishings, etc., have already been adopted by individual donors, there are still many opportunities left — and, of course, unrestricted contributions are always welcome that increase our flexibility in the use of the funds.

If you have driven by the site recently you have seen that installation of the foundations is already underway. Ss soon as the weather moderates, steel work will begin. January 2019 will be here before you know it!

The campaign for our Goshen Library Foundation is continuing, and we are hoping for many additional donors to step forward and help us achieve a win for our community. Every dollar contributed is a dollar invested in the future of Goshen. Please join us.

Information packets regarding donations are available at the current library’s circulation or reference desks, or we invite you to visit the library website (goshenpubliclibrary.org) and click on the “Interested in...” button. Donors can also visit the Goshen Library Foundation Facebook page, or contact us by email at goshenlibraryfoundation@gmail.com.

Once again, a heartfelt thanks to all for the generosity displayed so far!
