Alice B. Cole, a five-year resident of Goshen, formerly of Palm Coast, Fla., and a former server in Teaneck, N.J., for many years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018. She was 84.

Daughter of the late Michel and Cristina Dellis, she was born on Nov. 9, 1933, in Athens, Greece.

Known by her family and many others as "Nana," she had a feisty personality and also was known (and not-to-mention loved) for her misuse of words when she spoke (as English was not her first language). Nana had such great love for her grandchildren and great granddaughter and enjoyed spending time with them very much. A woman as strong as she was stubborn, Nana will never be forgotten. May she enjoy all the cigarettes, coffee, and chocolate that she wants now that she is truly at peace.

She was the widow of Herbert W. Cole and was predeceased by her daughter, Panagiota "Peggy" Gelato, and sister, Evanthia "Tula" Geiss.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Patrick Gelato and his partner, Diana Perrett, Kristin Gelato-Ferguson and her husband, Kevin Ferguson, Dustin Gelato and his wife, Judy, Derek Gelato and his wife, Janine, and Corey Gelato and his wife, Gina; and her much-loved great granddaughter, Ashley Gelato.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Rd., Monroe, N.Y.
