Josephine C. Kissel of Goshen, N.Y., dies at age 92

Josephine C. Kissel, a native of Goshen, N.Y., and formerly of Stratford, Conn., and Toledo, Ohio, passed into the Eternal Hands of God on Dec. 8, 2017. She was 92.

She was born on Nov. 5, 1925.

Josephine and her family were members of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Goshen. She also married Edwin Kissel at St. John.

As a young girl, Josephine played softball and played pranks along with her brothers and sisters up and down Prospect Avenue. She and her husband traveled during his career in the U.S. Air Force. Though never having children, they had Muggsie and Murphy, their cocker spaniels. They enjoyed fishing and living on Cape Cod during the Air Force days.

Survivors include nieces Kyle Perkins, Leslie Shaw, great-nieces Alexandra Woods and Jacqueline Barrett, great-great niece Saylor Woods, nephew Dale Korey, great nephew Michael Korey, and great-great nephews Cameron Korey and LJ Barrett.

Predeceasing Josephine was her husband, Edwin Kissel, USAF; parents, John and Cecelia Golemboski; sisters, Louise, Pauline, Frances, Veronica; and brothers John, Raymond, and Vincent.

A memorial and interment service will be held in Stratford, Conn., in the spring.
