Hanukkah celebrations in Goshen this year will include a menorah lighting and a stroll through the village with holiday activities and treats for children.

The event, hosted by Chabad of Orange County and run by Rabbi Meir and Rivkie Borenstein, is expected to draw large crowds.

It is set for 4:45-5:45 on Wednesday, Dec. 13. The menorah will be lighted at 6 p.m.

Chocolate coins will be dropped from the sky and hot chocolate, doughnuts and other goodies will be available.

Stores on Main Street that will be participating in the stroll are: Linda's, Hardware Store, Baxter's Pharmacy, Goshen Wine & Spirit and Sweet Thyme candy store.

"We are expecting a large crowd," said Chabad's director, Rabbi Borenstein, adding that the lighting is open to all religions."

"We look forward to host many children at the lighting," he added.

The Chabad recently hosted a parent and child "Sip and Paint" in Goshen that was attended by more than 70 people.

"Creating wonderful Hanukkah activities for kids who celebrate Hanukkah is our goal, " said Rivkie Borenstein.
