Goshen to greet fall with festival

— Community groups in the Village of Goshen will host their Fall Art, Music, and Pumpkin Carving Festival from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, on the village green. 

Artists will display their work while musicians Evan Teatum and Friends entertain the crowd.

Pumpkin carving and painting will run from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $2 a pumpkin. Children younger than five will be paint pumpkins.  

There will be contests for best pumpkin pie and apple pie. Goshen in Bloom will provide hay rides, and the C.J. Hooker Middle School PTO will host a chili cook-off.  

Another addition to this year's festival is a silent auction for the Keys of Goshen Pianos, which were painted by local artists. Bidding will close at 3:30 p.m. Proceeds will fund next year's Keys of Goshen project, in which pianos transformed into works of art are placed in locations throughout the village for anyone to play.

Food will be sold on site by Three Mamas and Mike and Sweet Tymes.  

This event is being coordinated jointly by the Goshen Chamber of Commerce, Goshen Art League, Illuminate Goshen, and the Village of Goshen The rain date is Sunday Oct. 15.
